Local first is a product decision, not nostalgia
What local software can do today — and why independence, speed and trust belong together.

Cloud services are useful. But not every task benefits from making data, sign-in and availability depend on a permanent internet connection.
Local first does not mean ruling out collaboration or synchronisation. It means deliberately choosing the starting point: the application works reliably on the user’s computer. Data and decisions remain understandable and tangible.
For many small, specific workflows, this is a surprisingly modern approach: fast, robust and free of unnecessary dependencies.
